95 SL 500 Head Light Bulb Replacement

Okay, I am embarrased to admit it but I have a 9004 headlight bulb that is kicking my a$$. So my question is can you replace the bulbs without removing the lens or does the entire lens come out and then install the bulb. Also are there any inside tricks that make it an easy job? Incidently driver side is the one that is killing me, other side is good.

Thanks,
Phil

Lightbulb I have a 97, but....

I have a 97, but it might be the same....

Inside the engine compartment, behind the headlight unit, there should be a gray plastic cover you can open by squeezing two tabs together and pulling back toward the rear. You then simply pull out the little thing where all the wires go into, unplug the light bulb, put in the new one....

Just don't tough the bulb with your fingers. I've heard somewhere oils aren't good for halogen bulbs.
