Shipping a core back. Not worth it?
I bought a new starter and the core is $35. Totally normal.
Well, since these things are twice the size of a newborn baby, it is very expensive to ship. USPS wants $67, FedEx wants $54, UPS wants $56. The starter needs to go from PA back to Harbor City, CA. I totally understand Pelican Parts has nothing to do with shipping cost, but am I missing something? How are people getting their core back or are they just giving up the money?

priority mail large flat-rate box usually fits a starter, but i'm guessing this one is bigger than that

If the prepaid USPS box doesn't work for you, try Fedex ground. Ground is a completely separate service from their traditional courier service, and it has lower pricing. Also, buy your shipping label online, it's half the price of buying at a storefront.

Oh wow! Thanks for the tip! I'll keep this in mind as well. |
