Maybe you guys can help steer me in the right direction. I'm investigating repainting my 86 300SDL w/340k miles. It's dark blue with the standard silver lower body panels. I'd like to upgrade to the 90's style paint version where the lower panels are not silver but are very close to the upper body paint color. I've not yet been able to find these paint codes... short of seeing a 90's version and running the owner off the road to look at the stamped plate under the hood near the radiator.

Bigrusty,
The only paint codes for anything "blue" that spring to mind are 339 Royal Indigo, 904 Midnight Blue, or 366 Azure Blue. Maybe 189 Black Opal but that isn't very blue. Hard to really say beyond that. You could always stop by your local dealership and/or independent's place and look at the cars they have on the lot. When you see the color you want just ask the salesman to pop the hood. (short of asking them directly)

Hope this helps....Lee
