Is there any leakage ?

When you look at the struts, did you notice any leakage of fluid from them? Perhaps that would determine which one that needs to be replaced! There was a mention in the newer ML's that they use new...

Abuff, wow thats terrible..

Are you bringing it into the dealer? It could be anything! insufficient fuel pressure, air mass sensor (I sell these for 1/2 price off dealer), O2 sensor!.. Thats horrible right after warranty..

Its actually called the brake light switch

Just asked the worker today, he told me the reason why the cruise control stops working completely is because you stop the cruise control via "the brakes" so if the brake light switch isn't working...

I believe it is held by 3M tape????

What I woud do.. is maybe try to get a heat gun and heat up the base a bit, hopefully that will melt the sticky stuff and hold it tight for 1 min..

I will never use mercedes OEM brake pads again.. I use "mintex" brake pads, they are made in germany as well.. the oem pads lasted me around 20k, whereas my mintex I'm already driven 20k on them...

You're lucky you don't drive a hummer..

My ML eats around 1 full tank of gas per week, and most of the time there is only two passengers.. me and my gf.. Thank god I have 4 other cars to drive when the gas prices are very high =P

But I know Pep Boys will scan your car for free too.. I use my shops $10,000 canadian Snap-On Diagnostic tools.. I can reset Air bags, test abs, etc.. too much to list.. =)

I doubt it..

Your catalyic converters duties are to reduce emissions.. So i doubt it will affect shifting, BUT some cats have O2 sensors on them if those are damaged, than that will greatly affect acceleration.....

$2k is exxagerated..

In my opinion its not that expensive to maintain a ML, its just like any other car.. you gotta remember.. you don't have to change the timing chain, transmission fluid, .. oil changes last 3 times...

Speaking of easy...

How easy it was for me to change the ML rotors too.. they came out with no effort.. possibly the reason was they are changed around every 2nd or 3rd brake change.. they were sure heavy!

Very easy job...

Floating caliper.. Easiest kind of brakes to change.. I believe the caliper is held by two allen 5 socket... change it when the brake light maintenace light is on!

when the sensor

touches the rotor it will activate the low brake pad light.. I think the rotor acts as a ground? not sure.. but perhaps if you can't find a solution just remove the light bulb from the dash and...
