190e 302 Swap

Hi guys,

New to the forum and Mercedes in general. I bought a 190e for $300 last week, and I'm preparing for a 302 swap. I see that is has been discussed a bit here and is a very doable build. Very excited to meet this challenge!

165,000 miles
No rust
Body and interior are pretty clean and complete.
New Bilstein and mounts all around about 15,000 miles ago
Engine has 90,000 miles on it, was repaced by the previous owner, but it doesnt run well enough to drive and he gave up.

My current plan is a fuel injected 302 with a mustang sourced T5. I know the rear end will need to be upgraded, and the steering rack with be changed out for clearance. Other than the necessary hood modifications, I am hoping to keep a stock outward appearance. Maybe some slightly bigger MB wheels to accommodate nice tires.
