London Update
Well it has been a wonderful trip so far. We've taken in some incredible sights and have even found some restaurants in Lonon which serve quite edible food!
Next weekend we're heading to Edinburgh, Scotland and the weekend afterward we'll be in Dublin, Ireland. There must be quite a few American tourists here because the Fourth of July was quite a bash at Picadilly Circus. Had a few too many pints of Guinness. Odd though that hardly anywhere serves Bass Ale here. Must be an "Americanized" English beer. What's really cool is that the beers in the pubs here are hand pulled, meaning no nitrous at the taps, the beer is literally "pumped" out by hand. When we arrive back to the US I will be unloading about 100 pix off the digital camera and will be sharing them with everyone here. We've decided to stay a little longer so we are going back to the US on Delta. Flying on a 767. The Airbus A330 that we came over on was pretty nice. Don't recall ever being on a 767. I hear the triple 7 is very sweet though. Any opinions on the 767? I always like to know what I'm in for in the aspect of comfort. I'm pretty tall and like to know whether or not an aisle seat is necessary. I think the nicest jet I've flown on in all the years that I've been flying would have to be the 747-400. It's been years but the lounge upstairs was pretty cool.

Aaron, Delta 767's are configured 2-3-2 in coach. If there are two of you traveling, see if you can get a pair of exit row or bulkhead seats on either side, that's about as good as it's going to get in back. If you're tall, you'll want the aisle seat to avoid fuselage curvature (it's not that big a deal, but every bit helps). If you're not just tall but also a big guy, note that the exit row seats have fixed dividers between the seats, whereas in other rows you can put up the middle arm rest and slide around.
I've flown transatlantic a few dozen times on 767's, it was the only plane AA and UAL flew to London in the mid-90's, and Delta used to fly them to Prague (and still flies them all over Europe). They're fine planes, I never had a problem. |

The Bass that you get in the US is nothing like Bass in the UK! It is a northern beer; the Bass brewery closed recently, but the brand was sold to Coors. However, I'm not sure they still sell it. All very odd.

Aaron,
Good to see the majority of your post concerns the subject of beer...............we don't want these lists cluttered-up with talk of MBs Surprisingly for an "out of towner" most Brits drink Larger, which I'm sure you know, is similar to your Bud, Coors Amstel etc only it has Alcohol in it................
