Wiring harness revolt-get yourself heard

Owners of 93-95 MBs with M104 and M119 engines. The time is now. Go to:

This is an online complaint filing form.

File your official complaint to the government over the defective wiring harness issue. MBUSA must be held accountable on this problem. The best place to start is here, by filing a complaint, especially if the problem has caused an accident, near accident, or a fire.

Enough is enough.

This happened to mid '80s Volvo owners. Volvo reduced the price from $900 to $300.

I should have rewired it but I bought a replacement.

On my car this must have been replaced during the POs time, but as I understand it, the plastic insulation is just falling off in flakes due to a formula that was supposed to be environmentally friendly to produce.
If this is the case all our cars will have problems, more or less serious, sooner or later if the harness is not replaced.
If I was responsible at MB or MBUSA I would take action right away.
Compare to the asbestos cases, a material that were around fifty years ago or more and now the producers are paying billions of dollars in damage!
Can MB afford to ignore their clients until it is too late? It is not an expense, it is an investment and an insurance if done today!

Just a little perspective:

Our 1995 Ram 4x4 pickup has had its share of minor recalls (don't everyone fall of your chairs), none that disabled our vehicle; but there they are... INCLUDING one referring to a WIRING defect in the steering column (ignition switch related) which MAY overheat, not WILL overheat, but may do so. We got this recall notice LAST YEAR. Obviously, even to Dodge, the low man (post-Plymouth demise) of the Daimler/Chrysler empire, being an 8 year old vehicle was not an issue.

Why is it so easy for Dodge to issue routine safety recalls, but so difficult for its now-sister firm to not do so? Who, as the premium brand, has the more important reputation to maintain? Who has more of a responsibility to its particular customer demographic, or, at least, gives the impression that they are maintaining a higher standard of customer relationship?
