The one car I would drive that is not an MB

This is my Dream car(the one that is not a Benz). It is the infiniti FX45, it combines sport, loxury and looks darn good doing it. Gotta love that V8 power.

What do you guys think of the FX?

I love it!
I think it looks awesome. Definitely better than the Murano. Is it based on the same chassis?

hell.. I'd even take the FX45 over the Cayenne.

Those wheels also look great! Infiniti/Nissan are definitely making some nice cars now!

they must have fired all their old designers and got some teenage kids to design these cars. I have to admit, they are daring and look great.

If they make a G45 Coupe for $5K more than the G35, I'll crack and buy one right away.

Infinity is on a roll.

19's? When I was at the dealer this evening all the FX45's had 20" wheels on 'em.

It's not my thing (TOO BIG) but it's a category-killer. Toureg? Huh? Wassat?

I dont like the FX. Seems trendy, and I can't imagine the styling aging well at all. There are plenty of other cars however, that I would happily own which dont hail from Stuttgart:

They include:
Audi A/S8
Old style 7 Series
Classic American muscle..Chevelles, Boss Mustangs, anything with Shelby written on it.
Peugeot 406 (can't explain this one, just like them, as well as the 607- beautiful styling)
I like the new Acura TSX, seems like a very good deal, and the interior puts the C class to shame.
Acura NSX
A Viper.
But not the Nissan.

But I'll take an everlasting 116 car over anything.

Mike

PS - sorry for going off topic.

Thumbs down

Looks like a modernized Honda Civic hatchback or a Pacer or something to me...sorry....Don't like it. It's probably fun to drive, though.

The FX45 is an awesome drive. Lot of power, sports car handling with the 20's (seriously) and unfortunately, sports car ride. I would consider it as my only car, as it gives all the convenience of an SUV without the bulk and handling disadvantages (I don't tow things, for those that do the 3500 pound limit probably won't cut it).

The FX35 is an even better deal. Same vehicle but with the 280 hp version of the Nissan/Infiniti V6 out of the 350Z and G35 coupe. You don't lose much power vs. the FX45, handling's even better (less weight, though the sports package is optional on the 35, standard on the 45), and much cheaper. If you look, you can be in a well equipped FX35 for well under $38k. For me, there's no contest comparing that to an Acura MDX, Honda Pilot, Lexus RX330, Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd., etc., but others whose priorities are kid-hauling may see it differently.

BTW, the FX is not based on the same platform as the Murano. The FX is an AWD version of Nissan's FM RWD platform, like the 350Z and Inifiniti G35. The Murano is an AWD version of Nissan's FWD Altima/Maxima platform.

A good site for anyone interested is www.freshalloy.com

If I had to drive another car as my primary daily driver in place of my Mercedes, it would likely be the previous body style Honda Accord EX V6.

I agree with fahrgewehr on the 406.

I just like the shape of the 406. Very elegant, sporty and timeless I think. In fact even the 405 was nice.

The pininfarina coupe 406 is even sexier!

Ugly ugly ugly !

Ugly sports car , uh truck , uh SUV , uh mini-van , whatever they call it . The idea that they can combine all these ideas and uses into one hybrid machine is weird . That's why it looks weird . Nobody in their right mind would take that thing off-road so it's just a real fast , ugly , stationwagon that's as expensive as a C230 Mercedes ? No toss up to me . Also the color shown is awlful !
