I once had a 1984 Peugeot 604 Turbo Diesel and THAT'S the car I want if I can't drive a Benz. Totaled it in Dallas in 1990...

...great car, and I could not care less if it's French or Dutch or Lower Slovakian!

I like that fx45 too. I think its very cool looking, and a lil bit different than the rest of the SUV's.

Of course I'd have to ensure it could easily tow my 5500lb boat up the grapevine without damaging the car.

I like the FX45 and I like the Murano. I saw them both at the Chicago Auto Show and have seen both on the street. If it was my money though, I just can't see paying the $30,000 premium on the FX45 over the Murano. I would much rather have a G35 coupe, and then an extra $30,000

Actually, the FX45 runs about the same as an E320 Mercedes.

I don't like the FX45, but I am biased as I hate all bloated SUV's including ones that attempt sports-car like behaviour while toting around 5000lbs. Notice the word "attempt."

That said, let's look at the FX45 from a market standpoint. It's a category-killer for sure. The Tourag has the most unfortunate name and is sold by VW dealers that recently have developed an allergic reaction to customer service. The FX45 has a honkin' V-8 and unique style that seems to be catching on with the bloated-vehicle crowd.

The Cayenne is ugly too (saw one in person, no better) and really expensive. The only thing to use it for is tow your 911 race car to track day. The FX45 will probably run with the non-turbo Cayenne at much less money and equal or better build quality.

For people that don't like the squishy ride of the Escalade and Navigator, the FX45 makes sense for a status V-8 SUV ride, and it's less money to boot.

But, I agree with the idea of saving a ton of money and simply buying the G35 6M which can't tow anything (but I could buy an old truck and still have a suitcase of cash left over) but is skin-hell fast and VERY stylish.

However, the FX series will sell, and sell out quick. The G35 sedan and coupe are selling fast, and this will too. If only Infinity could get the M and Q right, they might become the dominant luxury car player. Remember when the ugly 1990 Q45 was launched and sat on dealer lots? It has taken them 14 years to catch on, but they're getting it.
