Been having trouble over two years,now worse.Sweat bad after eating,or working,and get out of breath.Been taking ephidrine for breathing,but makes chest hurt.
I knew 10 years ago a VA heart Doc told me,a vessel going to heart was narrow.I feel now I need a stint.Afraid of open heart surgery do to recent crackdown on pain meds.
Anyone have stint thru a leg? scared,but not of dying.

Get thee to a doc my friend! The pain of a stint is nothing to worry about. I have friends with 8 stints. You go in and they do it and send you home. If on blood thinners it is trickier because of the potential to bleed.

Open heart surgery is much less painful now too, that they glue your wound back instead of the old staples.

I had two stents put in...one in the leg, and another in my neck. Both were relatively pain free. More of a minor discomfort. Then again, I gauge all pain levels to what I went through during recovery of my shoulder...which was pure hell.

Get to a doc, get it figured out, and get it fixed ASAP

I have had a stent via leg and it is not painful. It is more routine, not exotic, but my doctor has done about 600 of them over 10 years.


Get an experienced doctor in a larger hospital with good facilities, you'll be back in business wrenching in six weeks.

Advisable before rather than during a heart attack. So common today it is almost unbelievable. I never had one yet the wife did. I do not think any amount of real pain is involved usually.

Stents kept my late father in law alive an additional 15 years when he was given a death setence. He was getting them on average every 2 months as they would plug up.

Go see a doctor immediately.

decided not to go to Doc. Addicts really screwed up pain treatment,boomers are considered old heads.The pain I suffer with my spine,a heart attack would be a blessing.

I totally agree with Nate! Your family needs you up and feeling well. The stint if needed will give you energy and make your overall mental and physical health much better. Don't worry about being an old fart, we comprise most of their patients.

Go in, put on your best smile and put your faith in the process. May as well die trying to get fixed up as to die because you didn't try.

I went in yesterday to get my bladder stones removed and read my medical history. I've had about 14 medical procedures in the last 13 years, just fixing all the wear and tear stuff. I intend to go out kicking, doing as many fun things as possible before passing on to whatever there is next. From taking a walk with a grandchild to whatever else you can.

? Did they use the sonic thing to break them up or just go in and rip them out?

OK first off it is bladder stones not Kidney. Pretty much no pain ever from passing them out in the urine. Yes he went up the Johnson with this atomic powered thing(kidding) which has a light and camera, a grabber which can grab them and crush them then a sonic thingie which will blast a big one apart so it can be crushed and sucked away.


When I had this done four years ago apparently my prostate was smaller and so less damage was done by the magic atomic gun.
