Exhaust hose that will connect to a small engine?

I'm over-run with gophers this year. One particular coy-dog that I have been unable to kill and who has my Anatolians baffled has decimated my barn cat population down to one sole survivor. We've never had gophers before to any extent and they've moved in. The sole barn cat is doing her best but is overwhelmed. The house cats would sprout wings and fly before they'd deign to sit by a hole for hours on end. Traps and those gas bombs are no good.

I want to gas them with carbon monoxide off my DR trimmer/mower but need a heatproof extension hose to get the exhaust gasses into the hole. I stopped at NAPA yesterday and described what I want and the pock-marked genius behind the counter looked at me like I was nuts. No help.

Where can I get such a hose? Google keeps returning dryer vent tubing and vehicle heater hoses and other unhelpful stuff. Not sure of the diameter of the outlet on the mower but it can't be over 2", can it?

Get exhaust flex pipe, Napa sells it. It's heavier duty than dryer vent tubing, specifically made for exhaust piping. This stuff (part number varies by diameter, I just grabbed the first result)
http://www.napaonline.com/p/EXT49044

They sell it by the foot cut to size. I used it for a mini bike exhaust.

Coyote dog mix.

Elchivito, any sort of flexible hose should work, including the black corrogated type. YOu'll need to neck it down though so some sort of adapter will be in order....I'd start by extending the pipe away from the engine maybe 4' to allow the exhaust gasses to cool before entering plastic. Dirty socks, duct tape....some stuff to make the seals, you'll figure it out.

As Tom said, a coy-dog is a coyote/dog hybrid. There is one working our area that nobody has been able to kill, including my Anatolian Shepherds, who eat coyotes for lunch normally.

Thanks for the link to NAPA. $10.50 a FOOT?? I need at least 6 or more likely 10 feet.

This could be the ticket. The exhaust pipe is behind a shroud that I don't want to take off right now as I'm cutting foxtails but appears to be one inch. I don't need 25 feet but at 36 bucks it's a good price.

Look more closely, son. I think that's 25 inches, not feet.

When you're Googling, try including the word "garage" along with "exhaust hose".

That's what I thought too, gramps. But the coil pictured looks a whole lot longer than two feet and one of the reviews mentions the length as 25 feet.

I guess I'm just accustomed to finding messed-up information on some Amazon listings. That sometimes includes pictures that don't match descriptions, and reviews that are mixed together so that they include different variations of an item.

Googling "Walker 40000" shows me other sites, e.g., Summit Racing, that claim it's 25 feet, and show it for a similar price. So hey, I agree that it's probably legit.

Searching for a series of parts numbers will do that. Walkers entire line of flex pipe is in the 40000's, from 1 inch to 10 inches in diameter or whatever they run.

I was going to suggest marine exhaust hose but it would be pretty pricey.

If it gets long you still need larger diameter to prevent snuffing out your engine maybe.

You can also try stainless gas pipe. I saw it at Lowes recently. It has a yellow plastic jacket that can be cut off an it would be a good fit for a small engine exhaust.

Many small engines have NPT threaded exhaust ports, and usually it's possible to replace the existing muffler with a round screw in muffler of ~2.5" diameter. Clamp some basic $1.50/ft exhaust flex pipe onto the outside of said muffler and rock on.
