Grill Badges

Can anyone tell me more about the grille badges seen in some MBs? I understand that there are certian badges for mileage achievements and where the car was assembled etc. Also where do we aquire the badges? Any info is appreciated.

All in kilometers of course, you get them for 250,000, 500,000, and 1 million. These are non-transferable and your car has to be certified by a dealer. Call the Mercedes 800 number and they'll send you the paperwork. There's also a lifetime award for 1 million miles Mercedes automobiles. You have to have accumulated in various Mercedes automobiles a total of 1 million miles. I don't think you need anything special to get this award, just honesty

Also use the search function at the top right hand corner of the page, I think this has been discussed before.

anybody with grill badges had them stolen?

i'm worried that when the time comes that i'll rack up 250k and get my badge, that it too could be vandalized.

if it tends to get stolen, then i'll put it at the back of the inside mirror

Saw a neat badge yesterday...

on a W123 300D for sale on the side of the road. Looked like something I might be interested in so I stopped to have a looksie. As I was giving the exterior a once over I noted a badge on the grille. Closer examination showed the badge proclaimed the car was a "European Delivery Program Vehicle". Kinda of a nice touch. and the badge appeared to have been in place since it left the factory, really showed some mileage (256K).

In addition to my 250,000km badge, I found a neat "Stuttgart" badge on eBay a while back, and I put it in the center of my grille. I think it looks pretty cool. I'll go take a picture of it later today and post it.

The disclaimer says to allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. I got mine in two weeks.

I've been patiently waiting for my 250K km badge since November, I was hoping to get in in time for Christmas. I was in there today and asked the service manager about it again(it's become a running joke between us)...he said he would see the Regional Rep. regarding this matter once again. Maybe I should start planning now for my 500K badge as I have 370K on it now

Kyle,

You trusted a dealer to send it in for you? I sent it in myself, only had the dealer verify the mileage.

Hi Mike, yes I trusted my dealer,I had to because that's the way it's done here,I contacted MB Canada and they sent me to my dealer. The Monroney(?) certificate unheard of here,MB told me to contact the dealer that sold it new, fortunately it's a local car and I still even have the salesman's business card.
