I finally figured out how to do this.
This is the message I got when using my laptop with system 7 and internet explorer 11. Thanks for the help.

Make sure when you are launching the EPC that you go to the website, log in and download the java app thing. If you try to use one you previously downloaded you get that errror.
I just did that today. I opened the EPC a few hours ago, and went to re-use the file I previously downloaded. It resulted in that error you posted. I went to the epc website, logged in, clicked the launch link, a new file downloaded and the EPC launched successfully.

I went just now to epc.startecinfo.com.
I logged in. There is a blue line that says Click here to launch EPCnet Online I clicked here. I get a screen at the bottom asking do I want to open or save. I click save. I get another screen asking to open or open folder or view downloads. I click open. I see Java 7 working. I get a screen asking Do you want to run this application? I click run. Then I get that error message. I turned on my Java console and it is listing all kinds of "stuff" I really appreciate your taking the time to help. I emailed Mercedes, and have not heard from them, but then its only been 4 days.

Can you scroll to the top of that window? Maybe expand the window width wise?
If you want an image to shows up in your post...copy and paste the contents of the "Linked BBCode (message boards)" box into your post. That will make the image appear and users can click the image to make it larger.
