Try as you might, you will never get around Zimmerman's decision to arm himself and then follow a "suspect." He is an idiot.

It is PROOF of nothing. It might be a demonstration of something. But PROOF? Not by a long shot.

I don't believe he is an idiot but I also don't believe he is all dialed in. There is a lesson to be learned here. The lesson is if someone sees someone they "feel" is acting suspicious, dial the police, report the location and then LEAVE THE AREA IMMEDIATELY.

I also believe had Z not been armed, he most certainly would have died or suffered permanent disability from internal cerebral hemorrhaging caused by Martin's repeated bashing his skull into the sidewalk while yelling, "YOU ARE GOING TO DIE TONIGHT".

If he wasn't armed he would not have gotten out of the car and we would have never heard of this idiot.

The closest person to him in his life, his girlfriend flat out said he was looking to "whup ass". Street slang for beating someone to a pulp. Z, on the other hand, was getting his "ass whipped".

I have known people who thought they were invincible.

They were not.

It took them some time to understand this, but they eventually had to face the fact that someone was out to get them and it was them.

The actor Tom Arnold once said when asked about his five divorces, "There comes a time when you have to ask.... is it me?"

I once worked with a fellow who made a number of bad decisions. He would laugh about his poor work performance and say that bad luck just followed him like a dark cloud over his head. His manager took finally told him of the play 'Julius Caesar' in which the line 'The fault, dear Brutus, lies not in the stars but in ourselves' appears and his attitude changed for the better.

Perhaps this would be a good lesson for the subject in Florida?

Exactly.

He's a poster child for why stand-your-ground is idiotic, regardless of whether his lawyers mounted a stand-your-ground defense.

Gentlemen...let's not jump to conclusions. The man deserves his day in court...which he will get. That is his constitutional right .

He's presumed innocent on the new charge, but he had his day in court on the murder charge. He was acquitted of the crime, but proven to be an idiot.

Agreed. What we have here is a mis-wired carbon unit crying out for help. His actions lead me to believe nothing else.

Who he is has obviously caused this much publicity for a domestic dispute issue. The guy has to be an idiot not too keep his profile down.

In his shoes I would not bank on a particularily long lifespan anyways. If convicted and serves any time he will have to be in segregation I imagine.

One also has to wonder what it is with him and guns. Threats to a girlfriend using a shotgun is a great scenario. Maybe there is some sense to limiting gun ownership and access to them.

I'd have to say he's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

By then it's too late. I've been on this Earth about twice as long as Zimmerman has and so far I've been able to avoid having anyone threaten me with physical harm (not counting grade school scraps). One thing I know I would never do is arm myself and then follow a suspicious character around the neighborhood.

Here we go again. Yes, he was, in fact acquitted. However, I'm unsure if the court record indicates a charge of "being an idiot".
