Let's talk LED's shall we
I really like the brightness and quick off-on cycle of LED third brake lights you see on late model cars and trucks. I did a little research on the web and found that you can buy LED conversion bulbs in common sizes for cars like 1156 and 1157. There's a company out of California called Ledtronics that makes a ton of LED's for almost everything. They sell 1156 conversion bulbs (at a rather high price) https://www.netdisty.net/ds/aut1157/Default.asp and there's this guy on eBay also selling them http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1809376331 . I thinking of buying a pair of 1156's to use as stop lights on my W123. Has anybody here tried these LED bulbs?

I kinda like the strobe lights....
Maybe install some inside the turn signal and/or headlight areas (would look like an F1 Safety Car)..... I'll bet you could clear the left lane quickly on any interstate!! |

Consider any resistance considerations for the bulbs, as the W124 (and maybe W123) series bulb indicator on the dash works off of this.
In other words, the light may come on if the LED bulbs don't match the resistance of the OEM bulbs...
