Hatt/Med--check this Endeavor out

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120030087498#description

I know both you guys like Endeavors.

Talk about an opportunity for a guy like you Hatt with free yard time.......a friend of mine checked it out yesterday and said he couldn't see but had to feel for the hull/rudder damage.

I bought a Cal 29 when I ran a marina after college and made some good money on it--it had more damage than this one, but a clean title.

Not really actualy, I know of them but I am not to familer with them.

Hard to tell in the limited pics but it looks pretty decent. I'd be worried about what the damage on the side did to the hull/deck joint there. They seem to have the same joint as Pearsons, and its somewhat exposed. I bet it leaks. Still just a bit of glasswork.

I could get her looking like new for $10k-$15k. I'd fix the damage on the side, spray the hull flag blue, because I like blue! Spray mast, and boom white. Have the guy I race with hook me up with some new North Sails, rework the rig. The wood is horrible, strip and 8 coats of varnish. Get rid of those stupid Angles, and update the interior and electronics.

Thats the kind of project I want when I get out of school, I could make that into a nice boat, sail it for a few years and probably break even come selling time.

My buddy dove on it and said he finds no structural issues with the keel or rudder & like I said had to feel for the dockrash. He also put a hydrometer on it and thoroughly examined the bilge and it is dry as a bone with no mold or mildew reading or musty smell. That front roller furler is toast, though and there is no mention of that or the burnt winch in the ad. The problem with a boat like that is in the ownership, not the purchase. That is why you are right, you have the perfect opportunity for a boat like that--free yard time, cost parts, free use of tools and air fed suits and you probably could even wrangle a slip, couldn't you? I made enough money for the downpayment on my first house off the 29' Cal I flipped--you won't be able to do it after you graduate, 'cause you wont be working in the yard anymore. If you do something like that you should write about it and pimp your story to Cruising World or the like too. I wish I would have done that with the Cal.

Nah currantly I am to broke to even consider a flip such as that. I'm not really interested in purchasing and working on anything I don't want to keep for personal use. But of course I am a bargin hunter to the core. Its hard to tell a lot from those pics, is the deck dry? Balsa core deck? I have fixed a lot of leaks around rail stanchons, gen tracks, and deck hatch's this year. The aft few feet of the tracks on the Pearsons always seem to leak. The furling is no big deal, Harken has a new system out that would work perfectly, along with a new North Jib.

My work at the marina may be ending after this season, we shall see how real estate goes. This is season six, time to saddle up and head out for the next adventure.

Jeff thats a nice boat, how did she sail? Almost laid out like an Irwin 52, but I am sure built a better.
