Sportin' Wood
Udo Haase, a master craftsman who painstakingly recreated Mercedes' legendary 300 SL Gullwing out of pine. The endeavor took Haase roughly 2,500 hours to complete, and was constructed without any screws or nails; only glue was used to hold the pieces together. |

Maybe 55 years from now, someone will make a wooden replica of a Lexus GS430 . . . but I doubt it.

Wow
I hope he inlaid metal into the dash and other 'normal' wood locations? Reminds me of when that guy was building the 25 foot lobster down here. ( maybe it is 40 feet? ) Took him 3 years, I think... and about $100,000? I think he made a profit on it. It's a tourist attraction in Islamorada now. |

It has a thick aluminum rod skeleton,
with foam and fiberglass discs mounted on it, just inches apart. The shell was then constructed over that base. I believe he used epoxy resin on the whole project. |
