Drove New A-Class...

the dealership gave it to me for the day while the 124 was in getting a new windscreen and front springs.

things I liked: the colour; metallic dark grey, air-con, chrome in the interior. 1.5 petrol engine was pretty peppy.

The seats and overall build seemed decent but there was nothing that made me feel like I was driving anything more special than a honda or ford. Some plastic bits like the bonnet release really felt cheap.

The gearbox was pretty notchy (5 speed manual) and the steering was stiff and lacking feel. Maybe it wasn't quite 'worn in' yet (only had just over 1K on it). Felt unstable on open windy roads.

All-in-all I was very happy to get back into my old tank

What was the ride like?

It's supposed to be very good, much better than the bad riding old A-class, so how did it compare to an old W124?

The ride was ok- pretty stiff suspension - not as nice overall as the 124 I'd say.
It did well with bumps and stuff but you definately felt more through your bottom than the 124.
