I remember guys on the fishing boats I worked on in Alaska purchasing cases of Nyquil from the ship's store--we were a "dry" boat, so that godawful stuff was apparently a suitable stand-in for the most afflicted among us.

Nyquil, is also very effective at decreasing the effects of sea sickness.

I thought it was rubbing alcohol

I used to work in an inpatient substabce abuse treatment center, and hard core alcoholics drink Listerine if they can't get anything else. Pretty stout stuff.
