2000 ML320 Immobilizer Delete Service?

I have a 2000 ML320 and I'm down to 1 key for the truck. Mercedes dealer tells me there are no "key slots" left so I can't get another key.

I would like to be able to use any key that fits the ignition, without worrying about security chip issues, just like an older car. "Karman Auto Car Electronics Repair" and "Precision ECU" both offer immobilizer delete services which appear to do this. Does anyone here have any experience with either of these companies, or immobilizer delete services by any other companies?

Thanks
Ed

I have no experience with or knowledge of either of the companies you mentioned. However, I can say that what you are seeking is absolutely possible. I took a quick look at Precision ECUs website - $435 for immo off on an old ML is kind of steep in my opinion, but...

The information on how to do it as well as the software tools needed is available online if you were inclined to do it yourself. But it will take time to search it out, find active download links, etc., and some of the forums that foster this type of thing are subscription based. And there's always a learning curve. Are you willing to invest that kind of time into a project like this, or do you consider $435 a reasonable cost for the desired outcome?

And before you ask, no, I can't do it for you. I could probably figure it out fairly quickly, but my experience from years ago was dealing with certain Bosch ECUs and VDO or Magneti Marelli or Bosch instrument clusters. To put it into perspective, it took me about 30 minutes and I charged $100.

This is an old post but I'm contributing for anyone in the future who might be searching.

There is a product called the Julie Emulator which can send the immobilizer signal to the ECU. They're not expensive and are soldered to the ECU

Here is the one that is installed in my Bosch EDC15 ECU
