Thinking of buying GL550
We've been looking to replace our 2006 Honda Pilot and came across a 2013 GL550 with about 48Kmiles that looks great and the price is in our range.
What can you tell me about maintenance costs for this SUV - I've been able to do basic things on the Pilot (brakes, fluids, filters, shocks, belts and PowerSteering pump). Not sure that will be possible with this thing. Will the maintenance costs eat me alive trying to get to 150K-200K miles on this thing?

Go for it and plan on doing all your own work. Pick up a code reader for it and you should be good to go. If you have done those jobs on the Honda you will be able to it on this one.

Agree. Can you post some pics? What price range do you expect to pay?

Here is the ad: http://denver.craigslist.org/ctd/d/denver-2013-mercedes-benz-gl-class-all/7098269848.html
Hoping for $25-26K with some kind of maintenance agreement.

Good luck; I agree some kind of guarantee would add value to the deal. I bought my daughter a 2002 ML320 and it has some 250K miles now. Has not been trouble free but is still her daily driver. They called it an "Alabama trashcan" here on the forum but I believe the GL is probably a much better vehicle.

Get a Carfax on it and see how many owners and if any accidents. If a lot of owners and/or accident move on.
