Unimogs street legal?

The other day, I saw what looked like a Unimog driving through Falls Church, VA and wondered if they are typically street legal, because I know a lot of them are used by the military, construction industry, etc, where they may not require a license plate like a regular car or truck.

Who has one and what has your experience been?

They can be street legal over here though more often than not given a speed restriction as they are (more often than not) classified as agricultural.

I know of two mogs owned by a guy that runs a headliner repair shop and he has regular florida tags on it.

But this is an awesome state with no inspections or smog checks

Yes, usually street legal around here but honestly too slow to be driven on the street (old ones had a max speed around 50mph)

Thomas, you have but to ask me... Mine is licensed and insured. It has a plate but I don't have to display it since it's an "antique". I just carry the plate around with me in a pocket in the passenger's door.

One day, I'm going to have to come down there for a visit, Evan. I'd like to see it and all the other interesting stuff you're working on.
