Actually, they don't.

If it's a 2000, the engine is a 5.0 liter, it does not have dual zone climate control, the steering wheel does not tilt or telescope, it does not have rear air conditioning (although it does have a couple of almost non-functional air vents in the rear) and the seats do not have memory. There's a few for you.

They know not.

A good link to the ad would be interesting to see.

it's Grey market look at the taillights, they should be red and clear on a 2000 usa G-klasse, but there Red with orange on this one, also a 2000 usa should have dual zone auto CC. :p

Front lights are an easy swap and i've seen several grey market trucks without the correct orange lights

There was no USA 2000 G500, as MUSA was not yet bringing them in.

FWIW, the 2000 G500's imported by Europa International were not considered to be grey market by USDOT or USEPA. They were considered to be US legal vehicles from a small volume manufacturer - Europa Int'l. Ergo their VIN's all started with "WDBEG", which is what I'll bet this one has.

Yeah I was thinking this could be a general thread on the subject.

I see it almost every time a pre-MBUSA G ends up in a random dealer. I often wonder why the owners didn't try to sell it themselves and how these trucks end up at these dealers. Trading one rare car for another is the only thing I can think of.

If everything works and the car is in good condition, their price is probably also a bit on the low side. NADA shows one in good condition to be $50K, although that's probably way high. $30K is probably more like it.

Lots of folks in the know like these better than MBUSA G500's, as there are less electronic nannies to break.
