Faced with a 500 mile road trip I was determined to get the wheel spacers off the front so I finally set about grinding the calipers to make the needed clearance. I'm pleased to report that these wheels will sit on the hubs with 4 piston calipers with enough grinding. You pretty much have to grind until the cast in markings disappear and bevel the outside edges. I don't feel like I got anywhere near compromising the integrity of the calipers. Its always had a shimmy with the 3mm spacers but they're smooth as glass with the wheels pulled up solid on the hub.
It still gets a bit of fender rub under significant compression while turning and its pretty much unchanged because the rub is actually at the rear of the fender at the start of the arch. For the look these wheels give its totally worth living with. Even today filthy from the trip another random stranger called me out at the stop light to compliment it and ask a few questions before the light changed. Its surprising how much this car gets noticed with these wheels.
