cragar ss on a w123
Before anyone shoots this down. I have some 14 inch cragars that are hub centric and im just curious if anyone has ever put these on successfully. They seem to fit on there pretty well i just dont trust to drive it since the wheel bolts only thread in 3 threads. Has someone done this successfully before. Do they actually line up correctly what length lug bolts did you use. Also has anyone ever put studs in the hubs instead of using the stock wheel bolts?

Mercedes bolt pattern is 5x112mm which is about 5x4.4 inches. There is a common american bolt pattern of 5x4.5. I would imagine the relatively skinny Mercedes lug-bolts are allowing it to fit. I would doubt its actually hub centric (since the wheel probably isn't actually centered) and it will ride like crap if you drove it. With some variation/wobble wheel bolts and some hub-centric rings you could probably pull it off.
You can get longer Mercedes wheel bolts. Yes some people stud them, its more common in BMWs, but it is done.

You can figure out what length bolts you need by seeing how far your stock bolts stick out the back of your stock wheels and comparing that to how far the stock bolts stick out of the Cragars. |
