99 e300 original tire size

I'm buying a new set of tires for my 99 e300. I have 17" staggard wheels. Just wondering what the original tire size I need for the front and rear.

You're running non-standard wheel, so there is no right answer.

The car came stock with 215/55/16 tires on (I think...) 7" wide wheels, front and back. In the US this was the only tire size offered on the E300. The E430 sport came with 17" wheels, I believe the tire size was 245/45/17 all the way around, not using staggered wheels.

You might want to look into the wheel/tire sizes on the E55 AMG; that should provide the best model. The E55 may have used staggered wheel sizes...not certain.
