Goodyears ROCK. But only their Ultra High Performance offerings. All the rest of their tires are for nanny drivers.
![]() I've had two sets of Goodyear F1 Allseason. These tires are the cats meow. The grip on dry roads is phenomenal, the grip in the wet is exactly the same as the dry. In torrential rain, redlining 1st and 2nd with not even a twitch from the rear. ![]() ![]() I am switching over soon to a new set of dedicated summers. And I chose the Goodyear F1 GS-D3. *drools* ![]()

You sure about that? The only thing I can find about a US plant is a plant that makes seals (sealant?) in KY.

I've never owned a set of Yokohamas that I didn't give away after a short period of time. They are a cheaper alternative, and ride like a cheaper tire.
Any tire can last a long time, ... if the rubber is hard enough.

I had Yokohama Advans as standard equipment on an Evolution 8, those tires kicked ass but they were dead after 3k miles of hard driving. Very soft.

the reason i said the tires are made in the u.s.a is my tires have those words stamped right on the sidewalls.and they are great tires,i drive aggresive, and they grip good,no squealing around corners or rotories.

The only blowout my dad ever had was on a practically new goodyear tire. He made such a deal about it, I'd never buy goodyears myself. And, I might say accidents happen, but then I might start to sound like Rand Paul.

Goodyear tires - bad choice
"...Goodyear Assurance tires about 5 years ago, they all had the tread 60% gone in about 12k, and two of them were vibrating and failing. I had them replaced under warranty with Michelin Destiny/Harmony."
I'm currently having issues with Goodyear wear out warranty on my Assurance tires. They made it to almost half of the 65,000 mile warranty. The goodyear dealer refuses to honor the warranty because the Road Hazard insurance is required for the tire wear. Goodyear Corporate (Innovation Way, Ackron) is sticking to the story. I give up. How did you get the Assurance tires replaced with Michelins? I would prefer Continental's as they are on my bike (Specialized Allez Elite) and I like them. The Assurance are 100% road noise and fast wear. How did you get them to agree to do a warranty replacement with another brand? |

That doesnt add up because wear is not a road hazard. It is intended use. On the other hand, as a long time MB owner, Ive seen that these cars can eat up tires, especially front tires, pretty easily, even with good feeling front ends and decent alignments on a dealer rack. So unless you can prove that youve maintained good alignment (rack printouts) and rotations, you'd have a tough time anyway...

I've never been into Goodyears much because I worked for a couple of Bridgestone/Firestone dealers during my college years. I currently run Michelins on my sport bike and Kumhos on my 300D. I run the best tires I can find for my type of riding with the bike, and those are Michelin Pilot Road 3. While expensive, they grip like heck and I got 10,000 miles out of my last rear tire. That's a lot for a sport bike. Choices are limited for the car, since not much is available in 195/70-14 these days. I have Kumho Solus tires and they are doing quite well. I'd like to upgrade to a 15" tire in order to have more tire choices, but I haven't found a set of rims at the free/cheap range that I'm looking at.
