Oddly enough I like the hubcaps better then the aluminum wheels of the late 70's to early 80's 240s and 300s. I know both are 14" but is it possible to place hubcaps over the aluminum wheels?

There are aluminum wheels that accept hubcaps. They look very similar to the steel wheels and were used for only a few years on 240s. If you are talking about the 'bundt" wheels though, no they can not accept hub caps.
