if i remember correctly the offset is 35mm..
5x112 on the lug holes..and i havent heard of anybody going wider than 225/40'z on the tires without rolling the fenders. some say the 225'z will rub...but i have'em on my '95 e320 w/no problems. good luck ps-u might want 2 go 17'z if u want a more comfortable ride...thats what i did. |

MrRuffstuff is correct.
18-inch wheels on a W124 without more compliance will be a VERY rough ride, and you will most likely bend a rim if the roads are rough. Even my Brabus tech. has told me that more than half of all of his returned rims, are those that are 18-inches or larger in either a plus 3 or plus 4 from stock (e.g., 300E=15-inch rims; plus 3=18-inch). Not to mention how damn expensive GOOD tires are in 18-inches and bigger. Best of luck, :-) neil |

18 inch tires on 124?
i have just purchase and placed lowering springs on my 124.Iam planning to get 18 inch rims to go with the car.would it still be possible for the 18 inch tires to fit into the car without scrapping the fender? or should i just stick to my old springs with dot 1 spacers?

Personally, while 18's look great, they will offer nothing more than looks to your ride.
17's will provide nearly the same look, but with a more comfortable ride, cheaper tires, and less hassles. Some will tell you anything over a 16" Rim on a w124 car will mess with the suspension causing things to wear prematurely. Me, I am going to either stick with 16's or go to 17's max, but I think I might go for 16's. I like how my car rides and handles and looks with 16's, so I might just stick with them... I believe someone else just posted that the correct offset for 18's on a w124 would be ET40. but I am not sure, I think thats what I read... Check here in this thread... w124 tire options I would listen to those who have done 18's. Most have switched to 17's because of wear, harsh ride, and expense of tires and suspension replacements with the 18's. I would checdk tirerack's site, and see what it recommends for sizes. I do not believe they recommend 18's for a 124 chassis car at all, but I may be mistaken. Do some searching of this site and see what you come up with. Alon

verns...yeah...u can still go 18'z w/ ur ride lowered but
i wouldnt go wider than 215/40'z just 2 be on the safe side. some have said that 225/40'z rub...others have said they don't so...ur gonna hafta look into that!!! now...i have 2 correct myself...i believe ashman is right....with an 18" rim i think u need a 40mm offset....with a 17" rim the offset is 35mm. double check 2 be sure. i also was going 2 go w/ 18'z but after looking into it further i decided against it. i hear a lot of horror stories about bended rims...plus the ride is much harsher w/ a bigger rim. since i still wanted a smooth ride....i went w/ 17'z w/ 225/45/17 rubber....not lowered yet....but i couldnt be happier with the looks or the ride. good luck braaahh!!!!! ![]() |

FWIW, I had 225 rubber on 17x8 ET34 wheels, and with lowered H&R spring, and I thought they didn't rub, at least with city driving.
However, when I took it on the freeway, and went over 65MPH on some nice dips, boy, did they rub! Went back to 215 rubber in the front, and 225 rubber in the rear this time on 17x7.5 ET 37 wheels. :-) neil |

TurboMan, I was thinking about getting the same wheels as you did. Do you have any pics of the wheels on your car and how are the wheels treating you...is it a pretty good in weight and style...is it worth the money? Any help would be greatly appreciated because i've been looking for those wheels for quite awhile.

Can you guys help me find out if 18X8 with a 44 offset will fit on a 300E. The wheels are Zenetti/Mystiks. I was offered a pretty good deal on them...if they don't fit I'll probably go with a different wheel probably Mas Italy/Sagitta which has an offset of 35 and 18X7.5. I really like the Mystiks and the 8 inch wide but just wanted to know if it will work...my car is also lowered with HandR springs. Thanks.

87300E,
The Mystiks would fit. I just sold my Sagitta's last week, to get the Zenetti Vega's which are on back order. I eventually got the Mystiks a couple days ago which may be the better wheel than the Vega. The Vega is an 18 x 8.5 wheel which may have caused some rubbing. I have 42" offset on the Mystiks, with lowered Eibach springs, and no rubbing at this time. Now, I've heard/read that the H&R springs are a bit lower than the Eibachs, so couldn't comment on whether you would have an issue with tire rub. I'll post pics soon so you can take a look see. Was waiting on installation of Euro lights to post, but if I can assist with you making a decision on a wheel for your car, I'll be glad to do that. |
