I'm looking at a set of rims mounted with Pirelli P6 Four Seasons (H rated), 205/60 R-16. The tires have less than 5,000 miles on them and the rims are a great deal. I've read a bunch of reviews online that were so-so on the tires. Anyone here have experience with them? I definitely need an all year-round tire...

I had a set of P-7's. They were lousy; never would balance. Finally took them back to the dealer and replaced with Michelins. Dealer told me that the P-7's were made in Argentina and the quality control was very bad. Do not know about P-6's.

P6s are mediocre at best..deal for the wheels and drive'm until you get a handle on some new rubber..

Sounds like you guys confirm the online reviews--average/mediocre... The rims are priced well, so I may pick them up anyway... $250 for the set.



This is the style rim. I think they're originally off an E430? 7.5J x 16 H2, ET 41. Center caps are included.

Those will look great, the P6s will be fine for just summer driving..look for some 225/55/16s after.
And definitely mount a set of quality studded snows on the stock wheels for winter..bomber.

I only got around 15K miles out of a set of P6 tires so look on the bright side, if yours wear out as fast as mine did you will only be stuck with those junky tires for a short time. I'll never by Pirellis again.

Here they are on the car. Looks alot better than the dingy stock rims. We'll see about the tires, but I'm liking the rims. The tires look a little too small for the rims--I think 225's would fill them out alot better. The seller threw in the chrome lugs too.

The only bad thing is my wife likes them too and wants to drive it all the time...

Next is headlights. Can't decide what to do there...

I've been in the tire/repair business for years and always thought Pirellis to be mediocre. Their performance tires always stuck like glue but wore like erasers and almost always had balance/belt shift issues after 10-12K. If you walk my lot here, you can find most any Audi equipped with Goodyear Eagle LS2, Conti-Pro Contacts or P6 4Seasons. The P6 barely last 15k on front drive A3 & A4s but hold up better on Quattro models.

My ex GF got P Zero Nero's based on good reviews. Those POS's will never balance. She has had it back 3 times and they can never balance them. I suggested the Hunter force balance or whatever it is called but she never bothered so I don't know if that would have worked. Can any Pirelli balance? Don't they inspect their product?

Resurrecting this 11 year-old thread because I currently have near-new P6's on the front to my newly acquired E350, and I don't like them.

One or both are either out of balance or de-laminating (most likely the former because they are so new).

They are LOUD and start to vibrate above 45mph; most strongly between 65 and 70. At precisely 54-56mph the tire vibration frequency matches the resonant frequency of my rear sunshade, causing its frame to rattle a bit.

I am relieved to know it's not just me.

Re-balanced the tires and the vibration and rattling is gone -- but I can still hear/feel them (or rather the road) since they are not as new as I believed. They do perform well in the rain though.

All the perellis I’ve had are flat out garbage. I tend to stick with firestone, Dunlop, Michelin, continental
