I was reading an article out of the magazine were this guy had an E55. He had 315/35/17 in the rear on 17x10, and 275/40/17 on 17x9 up front. They guy stated that it improved his 0-60 from 4.9 to 4.4 and gives him greater cornering grip. My only question is how much fender work would be needed to get the 315 stuffed in the E55 arch, for that matter is there any arch left after this kind of surgery?

We do not carry any wheels large enough to handle that size tire on the vehicle, so we are unable to see what modifications would be required. Putting wider wheels and tires on a vehicle causes a car to go slower secondary to the extra resistance generated by the extra rubber on the road. We have to assume that other modifications were done to his vehicle in regards to the horsepower being increased to make the car faster, thus requiring the need to put the larger wheels and tires on the vehicle to have enough traction. I hope this helps to shine some light on your situation

I would think you would need completely new or reworked fenders to pull that off as the fenders are already rolled from the factory. (and its a pretty tight fit as-is) Given the amount of bucks needed to do custom fenders and oddball/gonzo sized wheels/tires I might just take my E55 to Renntech (6.0 conversion) or Lorinser (supercharger) and get my jollies that way.

Just my opinion...Lee
