This weekend I saw an audi with porsche wheels and thought, could I get spacers to get porsche wheels to fit on my c class? But mainly I want to see if this would be possible for bmw wheels as i know of some that where on a bmw 3 series of a friends car that would work and look great on my car for a good price, but can the lug pattern be changed via spacer, etc.. and would i have any problems with this. Any ideas, experiences? The porsche wheels thing came up as I thought of borrowing some porsche turbo rims from a friends car and saw them on a audi (I wish, but maybe we could put it up on blocks and try the wheels, wouldn't that look funny)

The wheel forum might give you a better answer, but as far as I know Mercedes is the only vehicle with 112mm bolt pattern. Maybe VW vans?

The Audi A4 and VW B5 Passat have the same bolt patter. H&R makes an adaptor to fit porche rims on a VW. I think thats only for the A4 Golf/Jetta with the 5 x 100 pattern. But I assume they should make a wide assortment of spacers/adapters.

Yes, it is possible but the wheels being used have to have a lot of positive offset to compensate for the thickness of the spacer/adapter being used. My 190/5.0 has Porsche 928 forged 7X16 wheels on it with Mercedes center caps. The Porsche wheels used have a 65mm offset and the front adapters are 25mm aluminum made for putting Porsche wheels on VW Vanagons. The rear spacers are custom made steel, 1/2" thick so that the wheeel sits properly in the wheel-house. So, subtract the adapter thickness from the wheel used to approximate the OE offset. My 65mm minus 25mm is about 40mm and OE offset is 35mm. Any questions?

I'd love to see it. Also, if all is good, maybe you would submit it to be in the Readers Rides of my website. Check it out. http://members.xoom.com/190E/ I'm sure others would love to see that beast of yours, why not show them? ;-) Let me know what you think. Thank you for your time and consideration. Please do not double post. You have this same topic on wheels & tires.
to cavkid: DONT' DO IT!! If you put BMW wheels on your MBZ we will have to banish you from the board for all eternity (smile). Of all the MBZ tuners and wheels that fit a MBZ are there none that you like. Try: AMG Brabus Carlsson Fab Design Lorinser Opera RennTech or BBS ATP Borbet Ronal |
