FS: NEW Engine Cover for 300E, 300CE, 300TE

Check out the underside of your W124... probably a 50/50 chance you're missing your lower engine cover/antinoise capsule!

This part reduces engine noise, streamlines airflow, and keeps road debris out of the engine compartment.

It is BRAND NEW other than an attempted installation, I got the wrong part for my car.

The part number is 124 520 41 24. It replaces the obsolete part number 124 520 88 23.

For 300E models, this is for cars up to ident # B747339. However, it didn't fit my 1992 300E despite my ident # being below that range. I think they changed over to a new part sometime during 1992.

So I think this part works in any pre-1992 300E, any 300CE, and any 300TE.

If you give me your model and year I am happy to look up your car on the parts CD and see what it says. After that, you're on your own... if it doesn't fit, you can resell it. I don't want it back!

New price is $93.00, I'm asking $50.00 + $10.00 shipping via UPS.

Here is the diagram from the parts CD for a 1986-1989 300E.

The part I'm selling is #47 in the diagram. It is for use with cars with a "splash proof enclosure". Otherwise you use parts 5 and 8.

All the other models I looked at do not have an option... this is the only part specified. But again, let me know your exact model/year and I'll look it up.

The part #47 I'm selling comes with #23 installed (a rubber boot that runs along the front), which is $7.50 if purchased separately.

Also needed are part #14 (qty 4) which are anchors for the screws that fit in rectangular holes in your car. It's likely your car has these still attached even if you're missing the cover. I have one extra (used) anchor that I'll include in case you need it.

Finally you need part #17 (qty 4) which are fancy sheet metal screws with a built-in washer. You can buy these from PartsShop for $1.35 each or just use some hardware store replacements. Thread size is not critical with the anchors.

Sorry, the diesels have a different part number than the gas engines (part number 124 520 95 23 is specified for your car).

For both the 1991 and 1992 300CE the part numbers are:

124 520 41 24 - Up to Ident No. B 747339 (The part I have)
124 524 15 30 - From Ident No. B 747340

The ident number is found at the end of your chassis number or VIN.

glenmore, please let me know if it works with your ident number, otherwise Ashman you can have it if you want it. Thanks!

Thanks,
