The dealer is trying to hit me with $300 for the parts. I would rather buy it used for a WHOLE lot cheaper than $300.

Thanks

The sun visors are the first thing either to be sold off or to completely rot. The last 2 I took off the 280slc and they were rotted inside. Yoiu can get them from Preformance Products or Adsitco but they run about $225 each. If you find some that aren't blue the is some very good spray paint at the automotive paint stores that will interior color. It is about $9 a can.

My 2 cars are very much parts cars and neither had the zebrano shifter cover.

Sorry. Kip

I never really expect to find them, but I always ask. At the price Performance wants for the visor it seems I could probably have mine redone somewhere, but the hardware is also worn out and probably cannot be fixed, and I imagine that is the reason they can rape you. Ditto on the shifter cover. Performance won't just sell you one piece, you have to buy the whole interior set. I think I would go with a black plastic cover if I could find one. Mine is about to peel completely.

I also need door molding and the rear rubber bumper guard for a Euro style rear bumper. Mine aren't real bad but I'd replace them if I could find something near perfect.

Does your 280slc have a four speed auto tranny in it? Those are getting rare, I might be interested in one of those to rebuild as a spare.

Sun Visors can be rebuilt reasonably by http://www.jjproducts.net/Mercedes/index.html.

If you call ask for Jim Bochinni. Not sure of the hardware.

My '72 350slc Euro has a 4 spd. manual trans. and a 225 hp Euro engine. Interested? I live in Corpus if you are.

Are you trying to sell the whole car? I am really just looking for a correct automatic tranny for the 83 280sl.
