How do you mount a euro plate on a 450SL?

Hey guys, I just got informed that a euro plate is heading my way from a german friend of mine, and I was wondering if you guys could help me out in finding out how to mount one of these in the front of the car (I have US spec "park bench" bumpers). If any of you have done this, or know how to mount it, it would be much appreciated!

Don't know about the 450, but my 560 has a couple of holes in the front bumper, which would take a bracket to hold the license plate. I've seen the bracket available in some of the usual parts sources. Don't know whether the Euro plates would need a bracket to fit or could bolt directly to the bumper.

I bought a German license plate for my wife's car from autoplates.com. They have a universal mounting braket for $15.00 that will fit just about any hole configuration. You may have to cut the rubber bumper strip between the two front bumper guards.

that's what I was thinking... it's wide enough for a US plate, but doesn't look like it will hold a european one. I am adverse to chopping up the bumper though... maybe there's a way of having it stick out a little bit? I guess I'll find out when it gets in.
