107 hood, how do you open it?
i have a 1985 380SL as well as a 1985 300TDT. the TD hood opens directly vertical to allow easy engine compartment access. it doesn't seem that the SL will go any higher than about 60 degrees? is that true? im replacing the hood pad, so it'd be nice to have it straight up.
thanks eric

Sixty degrees sounds about right - it's a head-banger!

I don't think you can go straight up... at least I haven't found a way, but I haven't really tried.

thanks guys. ive admired both of your SL's for quite some time. 4NDELIT im glad you decided to keep your SL, really. it is a peach and id hate to see you lose it. maybe you should save up and buy a nice $4,000 1985 300D- ultimate reliability, great fuel mileage. and keep both!

I am not sure on your new model. :p But mine has circular clips in the elbow of the hood hinge. I slip them out and prop the hood up with a broom stick.
