R129 sun visor mirror covers- ever breaking?

Anyone have a better fix for the seemingly fragile vanity mirror covers other than buying another set of visors for $250+! Seems crazy to have to pay so much just to have working vanity mirrors.

I see that MBZ made replacement options even more difficult by using slightly smaller mirror inserts than those commonly found in W124's.

Thanks,

AL

The W124 cabriolets also use the same sun visors.
My interim plan for mine if they break is this:

Remove cover, and remove illuminating bulbs.
This might evolve into a permanent fix for you.

Jim
