R107 Electrical parts - please help identify
Bought a 73 350 SL and the two parts circled in the attached photo were missing. Can someone tell me what they are and possibly a part number - any help is appreciated

What you have circled are the "ballast resistors", which step down voltage in the ignition circuit. If you have a PC (not mac), you can subscribe to the EPC (electronic parts Catalog). Free in the USofA, and get parts numbers for anything quite easily... Good Luck!

yes vehicle ignition was upgraded - car was started to be parted out and by the time I purchased the car the first person, to stop buy to purchase parts, bought the electronic ignition and LR taillight assembly and RF headlight lense. Seller gave me all the old parts - points, plugs, dist cap and condensor, etc,. - only things missing are the two items in pic - (ballast resistors)

is the silver box behind the drivers headlight not required with a crane system?

That is the switch gear. With the Crane system it is eliminated. The coil is also changed. From what others have posted a similar system, Pertronix, can be installed with or without eliminating the switch gear. The full Pertronix install eliminates it and changes the coil. Try searching here and on Benzworld for pertronix installation.
