Sold the SL

Nice car but too nice for the likes of me. It scratched the itch of owning an SL. I made a little money in the process too.

The guy who bought it was going to give it his girlfriend as a Bday present.

As a diesel driver, I am used to long intervals of time between fill ups. Driving the SL and seeing the actual fuel guage needle move is not a pretty sight.

I think I want a Mk2 GTI now. Another itch to scratch.

Here are some pics of the car. I sold it for $6000. I'm glad I got it but I am more glad it is gone.

I think I know what you mean. SWMBO drives a 380SL, replacing her 300D, but she doesn't really put that many miles on it. It was going to be that or a new piece of depreciating garbage that I couldn't work on, so I got the econobox of R107s.

I had a MKII Jetta GLI 8V.........first car. They are fun for tossing around. Good luck finding one though! They've all but been relegated to junk yards. I think a 90-92 with the BBS wheels would be a sweet find.
