Euro bumpers again
I know there are lots of threads on this subject in the forum, but I did not see any current info. I have a 1979 450SL handed down from my Dad to me and it is near perfect. Problem is, I hate the bumpers. I know they can be converted to the euro ones, just looking for help locating parts etc. Thanks for the help.

the technique hasn't changed for 30 years, so what you see is current. The fun part is deciding how much you want to send on the bumpers and then finding them for that price.
Lots of people sell them for what you might pay for a whole parts car. Others, well, they're not so high in the stratosphere. It's all a matter of looking under rocks here and there and finding them. I'd suggest buying whatever you can find, even if that means a rear bumper this year and the front one in 2010. In the mean time, be sure to drive the car and enjoy it for what it is. Mercedes are happy cars when people drive them and they mope when left alone too long. -CTH |

Note at the bottom of this eBay listing says this guy has euro bumpers for sale.
I don't have any connection to the seller; I just stumbled upon it. http://cgi.ebay.ca/Mercedes-w126-300SD-Heated-windshield-washer-bottle-res_W0QQitemZ260313205908QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item260313205908&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1215%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 |
