Whats A "service A" Cost For An Sl 500?

This will be my first service for my 2005 SL at the dealer here in Fort Lauderdale.About how much can I expect to pay? No issues with the car and its under warranty anyways. Just curious as to a ballpark figure. Thanks.

Call the dealer and ask what they charge for an A service on a 2005 SL500. OK. That's a smart ass answer, but most of us here have older vehicles and we try like Hell to stay away from the MB dealers for service. You'll find that you can save a substantial amount of $ on service if you find a good independent MB specialty shop. Dealers have way too much overhead ( as well as marble floor showrooms to keep polisherd ).

I believe an "A" service is just an oil change an fluid top off. I will estiamate

At my dealer 20 years ago it paid 0.6 hr.

Estimate

$80.00 Labor
$100.00 Genuine MB Synthetic Oil
$30.00 to be fleeced for a Fleece oil filter
$20.00 We used to add a bottle of Techron
$10.00 WW fluid and additive
$10.00 Air for tires

$250

It would be interesting to see what the dealer wants today.

Thanks for all of your responses. The final bill came to $275 and Mercedes Benz,Fort Lauderdale(the dealership near the airport) was absolutly 24k Gold and 5 star in every way.I`d owned Lexus,Porsche,BMW and Acura NSX before my SL and the whole service experience at this Merc dealer trumped all of them by light years!
They found a few things that that they felt weren`t quite right,(a windscreen washer-jet,the seat massager and the arm-rest compartment)things I had no concerns over, and the car that was running flawlessly now runs BETTER! I could not be happier with the price, the experience and the result.Top class service in every way and a bargain!
I know a multitude of people who constantly bemoan the level of their service experience and costs, particularly BMW freinds and for a number of reasons-communication problems,reception,follow-up,delay,cost,convenience,the actual work itself etc, etc. I`ve been in those shoes before and only the Lexus dealership experience came anywhere close to the quality of the Ft Lauderdale Mercedes dealer.

Thanks to all again and Happy New Year-mine is off to a flyer!

Well my guess was $250.00. I guess the air for the tires was more like $35.00 instead of $10.00.

A FSS in Southern California at a M-B Dealer

A Service ranges $149-$199
and a
B Service ranges $275-$299

but they claim that "The Flexible Service System has been discontinued as of model year 2005."

Naples, Florida on April 14, 16 dealer quoted me $350 for a and $550 for b. We all know they would find lots of stuff to do and run the bill up 4 figures and something.
I am not going to make a donation to this dealer. I know of two independent shops that will do the oil change and filter and check out the car honestly. Thanks to the rest of you for sharing. I have a 05 l500

They were just setting the hook, they'll reel you in and gaff you on the next visit.
