Interesting Speaker Placement (Front)

In this eBay auction of a very, very nice 450 SLC:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4545657055&category=6338

Note the speakers placed on the floor in the corners (very professional, carpeted). I thought that this was an interesting idea, and this stereo installation looked pretty "blank check".

On the car itself: I'd actually beleive these miles. You could make breakfast on the valve covers. It's that clean. I'd buy it as the "winter" car if I had the dough. Obviously, the owner spared no expense on this car.

It's a typical mid to late 80's-style speaker placement technique used by the better install shops.

Kick panel placement of speakers ensured a more even left-right imaging and sonic balance for BOTH passengers than dash or door panel placement, which biases one or the other channel (depending on where you sit).

In this case, it's a way to achieve better sound without cutting holes and compromising the originality of the car (which the seller touts). The kickpanel speakers are easily removed with only a few small sheet metal screw holes left behind.

The wear on the seats make me doubt the true mileage on the odometer though...and the motor on my dad's 71 280SE looks just as nice...with far MORE miles on it!
