Hi all. i hope to get some feedback from C36 and C43 owners as well those familiar with the car. (Noah, Lee, etc.)
i just read an article from 1995. C36 vs. BMW 540i and other cars. the 1995 C36 did 0-60 in 5.8 sec with only 268 HP and 2.87 diff. now, a 1998-2000 C43, 302 HP, 3.07 diff and the latest C&D when comparing C43, M3, S4, Saab said that the C43 did 0-60 in 6.1 sec? i dont get it?? is Mercedes trying to keep the figures conservative just to avoid problems with the USA automobile authority? i would imagin with the increased torque and HP, the C43 should be doing low 5s 0-60. (like 5.1 or 5.2 or maybe even 5.0) the C43 weighs less than the C36 and has more power...

can anyone add to this? can anyone give results of 0-60, 1/4 mile with the C43?

i am thinking about getting a C43. i used to have a 1995 C36 and gave it to my mother since i am a nice guy

i C36 felt fast off the line but it wasnt neck snapp'n.

thanks all!!

Whan:

I used a Gtech once, and had 3 0-60 runs. my best was 5.22sec with 450 lbs of people in the car. My worst was a half ass'd run on my part which gave 5.77sec 0-60.

My C43 is great. BUT i run it HARD all the time. I almost NEVER have it in Drive, S4 usually, S3 other times. (I haven't autocross'd once this year, but when i did go i used S2)

If you want to meet and take a ride let me know.

Hi Noah..been a while...
most definitely i still want to meet up. i will get my C36 from mom for a day and i want you to drive it and let me know how it feels against the C43. i know the new C32 is coming out in a year or so but typically, i dont like buying super brand new cars. too much attention and in NYC, thats not good. besides, the C32 is back to a 6 Cyl.

Are you overall happy with the speed and performance of the C43? do you think it could give a good run against the new M3?

hows your schedule this weekend looking?

thanks...
