Cheers!
Hmm, I'm really not a pro about watches I just like them for their style, coupled with reliability. I always tend to (I try not to) judge a person by their watch. A good one somehow gives an impression that he is reliable and trustworthy although this is sometimes totally the opposite
I'll take a pic of the Seamaster soon if I ever get my camera back from Samsung. It's got a black face. The Explorer II has a white face, which I currently am in love with

Cheers

My brother was visiting Corum in San Francisco over spring break. My mom was able to get the catalogue from him. Wow, great catalogue, amazing products.

Anyone know more about the brand?

History of Corum

Well, there's not much to tell since Corum was only established in 1955. They are design-oriented rather than a complete manufacturer but are known for some very groundbreaking designs according to my reference book The Classic Watch.

Their best known watches are the Longchamp (1957), Golden Tube (1957), Chinese Hat (1960), Buckingham (1965), US$20 Gold Coin watch (1965), gold Ingot watch (1977), the Golden Bridge (1980), their most famous Admiral's Cup (1982), the Peary Meteorite dial (1987), Golden Bridge (1980), and my favorite the Rolls Royce (1976).

Since 2000, Corum has an American chairman and president. New models introduced since have been the oversized Bubble watch in many variations.

Somewhat unfortunate, but I do like the turbillon, and some of the others that monitor the tide.

The Golden Bridge is my favorite of all of their watch designs. Anybody who appreciates fine mechanics would probably like that one.

I just took my Chronoswiss Opus in to be serviced. Somebody offered to pay for it for my birthday. Woohoo! What a beauty! Oh, the watch looks lovely, too.

Beautiful piece! Can you post pictures?

If you don't mind saying, what did the service cost?

I was considering sending my Vacheron Overseas in for a regular service until I heard from someone that it cost him $1400 Maybe losing 2min a week isn't that bad....

It appears that I'll have to send it to the US importer of Chronoswiss. The local dealer would not work on it. He has it right now, so I can't post a picture of it.
