GTech Competition Pro
Any body out there familiar with the GTech Competition Pro?
I just recorded some times for my Supercharged 560 SEC. I'm running an ATI Procharger P1SC and producing 12 psi of boost. I'm also using a water/methanol system to control detonation and cool the intake charge. Tires are 275/40/18 Kuhmo's. The car is very powerful and makes my E430 sport feel like an absolute slug but the times I recorded are almost unbelievably quick. I didn't do any quarter mile runs because I ddn't have anywhere to consistently and safely go above 120+ miles per hour without traffic. Anyway, here is what I recorded today. Run 60' 330' 1/8m speed 0-60 mph hp/tq 1 2.560 5.816 8.227 100.22 4.367 518.8/560.4 2 2.384 6.033 NA NA 5.113 NA 3 2.680 6.072 NA NA 4.742 NA 4 2.306 5.107 NA NA 5.107 NA 5 2.753 6.132 NA NA 4.783 NA 6 2.468 5.950 NA NA 4.810 NA 7 2.475 5.804 NA NA 4.398 NA Let me know what you think. I have the standard GTech Pro unit and it always returned very optimistic numbers. I never trusted it. It also was quite limited in the data it captured. The Competition model offered a few more features but the price was high, and it didn't add THAT much. I found the RaceTech AP-22 to be the best bang for the buck, period. It is INCREDIBLY flexible and it matches times verified by my GPS (speed) and stopwatch (time) which the GTech never did. Cost is about the same as GTech Comp model, but it also measures lateral G's, has tilt compensation, time & distance between any 2 speeds (0-60, 0-100, 30-90, whatever you want) and will do the same for braking (70-0, 90-30, etc). It has a RS-232 serial port for data download to your PC. Oh, and no annoying power cords to plug in! I'm not a sales rep and don't benefit from this, I'm just a very happy customer. Here's lots more data from the only place in the USA that sells, them (AFAIK):
