M104 non asr idle computer
Is the idle computer necessary for a non ASR m104 to run with a throttle body that opens completely? This is a swap in the track car and having cruise control is not a concern.
The ECU, throttle, and harness are from a 93 300E without ASR. I was not able to get the harness from the throttle body that goes to the idle module in the passenger floor area. If this is needed to run what part numbers do I want for the module? Is anyone able to ship one?

No. It is not necessary. You can remove the side cover and set base idle position and hook a cable up to it.

It is not needed. You can use the TPS in the non-ASR TB as well without issue. That said, it is not as accurate as other TPS so if you find that it is not getting the tip in you need, you might need to change to a different TB. I've used both the non-ASR tb and mad an adapter for an E36 TB. The latter gave me more control, the former was easier (and IIRC is a little bigger, 70mm vs 65mm)

Thank you both. How does the harness work if I'm using the the tps without the computer?
