Just curious.

Is there a company or individual that could reprogram a MBz ECU to put an M120 into say, a 107 or is this strictly a Megasquirt thing?? There are 4, various model, 600's on SF bay area CL between 7 and 8K, even a twin turbo for 12K. Just wondered.

The m120 came pre DAS cars s it is is doable. YOu would have to have basically a car to pull from or a lot of wiring diagrams and individual parts. But a pre 1996 car would work. You might have to wire a wheel speed sensor and or some other stuff but it can be done. Otherwise in early 1996 before the transponder ring there is a DAS module and that is just locked or unlocked via normal key function. No special key. But you have transmission info to deal with that you did not in pre 1996.

On this site, someone with the screen name Roncallo , Roncalo or similar did the 107 conversion using mostly stock parts, be a search.

the 1997 DAS X with a RFID chip in the key really isn't difficult to deal with. There is a small black box behind the dash that talks to the engine computer and an antenna ring around the ignition switch. All you need to do is tape a good key in to the antenna then leave it hidden under the dash.

Breaking up systems is where things get difficult, using everything is less difficult as it all works together when new.
