CLK 320 with C32 AMG Power

Have any of the techs, mechanics on this board ever installed a C32 AMG engine into a 1998 to 2001 CLK 320? I was wondering if anyone has and how the project went and was it a fairly easy fit (as these things go) and how did the car run afterwards. I have always been a born tinkerer and love to experiment with various engine powertrain pkgs into vehicles that they were not originally installed in.

I have done this numerous times with mostly american made vehicles such as a 351C engine into my 1967 Mustang fastback. A SVO turbocharged engine into my Ford ranger and a few other fun projects. Would installing a stock C32 AMG engine into a CLK 320 be a worthwhile project? The horsepower gains would be great and Im sure that the car would be very fast and handle fairly well after a few suspension upgrades. Just want feedback from anyone that may have done this project already.

Thanks for your time

Isn't the engine the same anyway, and it's just a question of adding the supercharger kit ????????

OK, so pass on your wisdom and tell us all what needs to be done if you cannot just add a supercharger to the V6.

A guy on the performance paddock has added a supercharger to his straight six 3.2 104 engine and achieved about the same power as the C32 AMG.

No mods to the engine itself (same compression) apart fom bigger injectors.

oh....you can certainly add an s/c to your m112 V6....I'm just saying that slapping on the unit from a C32's m112 is not going to be a direct bolt on. Don't know of anyone who makes a kit.....Kleemann might be your best bet if you want to try and go FI w/ your m112. Beyond that, I don't see why a straight swap would be that impossible, other than the fact that the supercharged m112's cost big $$$

M112 Engine upgrade

Hi Guys,

Iv been waiting for a forum post like this, I have a CLK320 C209 2003
The engines quite powerful but the M112 AMG would be awesome to have in the car.
Anyone heard of theChrysler CrossfireSRT-6 it has the trans and engine of the 2001 - 2005 C32 AMG and its half the cost.

Im looking at swapping the engines over and selling the crossfire when in done with the M112 N-A engine.

Any thoughts?

Also the car have a quite but raw engine note, are there any easy muffler upgrades I can do the make it sound hot!?

Cheers NickW,

This has been done quite a few times now. You can also swap in a v8 if you want. It is just a matter of getting the ecu unlocked and recoded to the vehicle. You will probably want to do the transmission also as it will not last to long with the new power. This will require a new tcu and getting the final drive ratio changed.

I've seen the swap done more than once on Benzworld.
