Hello

Has anyone here actually have or byt an AMG body kit for their w124. I believe this is the same pakage that came on the AMG HAMMER. If so how much more of a visual differance does it make. I am thinking about purchasing one of these to give the car mainly a more aggresive front end. Any comments apreciated!

try http://www.erebunicorp.com or http://www.nrauto.com or maybe the parts shop here has the parts.

Both sell Body kits. NR Auto Sells a Factory AMG Replica body kit I believe.

I personally like the front AMG Airdam. I plan on putting the AMG Style body kit on.

If you want to make your car look way bad ass, then the Evo II kit found at either place, is amazing looking.

I personally like the look of the EVO II, but would not do it to my car as i think it screams pull me over or race me.

I like the AMG Kit. it seems very understated, yet adds just a bit of style to the already stylish front and rear bumpers of the mercedes.

Iv'e been thinking about getting a kit for a while now, to add a more aggressive look. But many people said the AMG bodykit for the 300E looks too understated to worth getting. If anyone with the actualy AMG kit on their 300E please post or send me some pics that would be great.

I really like the driving lights that come on the front apron of the kit. Would it be possible to just add the 500E bumper cover on a early 300. I'm sure the extra width of the fenders dosn't affect the bumper cover. Just a thought!

Thanks!

Funny you should mention the 500E Front bumper cover, as I have toyed with this idea too.

Love the look of the fogs in the 500E Bumper.

I think the cover is slightly wider or flared out to match in with the flares. not sure though.

I think the 500E Front looks plenty agressive while still retaining the wolf in sheeps clothing appeal.

The AMG one is understated, and thats what I like about it. I think its sporty enough to make the car stand out from the others, yet elegant enough to satisfy the Mercedes Heritage.

I love the look of some of the body kits.

Have you thought of the SL Front and Rear bumpers for the car. that one is very clean. I personally don't like the wide wide body koenig style or some of them, but I love the EvoII, AMG, and the SL Kits.

Of course the ultimate kit would be to put the newer E Class front end on my coupe. I think it looks great with that front, of course I wouldn't go to that extreme without an excuse to do it, like someone clipping my front end causing me to have to replace all those parts anyway.

erebuni corp has some pics of the cars with the kits on them. if you havent checked it out, do so.

Thanks for the reply Alon. Looks like we are the only ones intrested in these kits. I like the SL look on Erebuni but a lot of mods need to be done to make it work, the impact strips are deleted, hood and the sides. That kit if done would look great on the coupe like yours though. What do you think about the Ducktail part of the AMG kit. I'm sure buying the 500E cover would also be a lot more economical. I'll look into the fitment of the bumper and let you know. Thanks Again for the response

Only way I like the ducktail is if it is moulded with the body, so there are no bumps or rises in it. if it looks like its part of the car I think its fine. hehe.

500E airdam

FA22,
This subject has been discussed briefly in the past. Do a search, I'm sure you will find the information that you are looking for. I believe somewhere, someone found a price around $500. for the 500E airdam. We all agreed, that type of money would be better off being spent towards other upgrades like, suspension and whatnot. BUT, if you do find the airdam for a decent price, PLEASE let use know.
Did you ever consider the Lorinser kit for your car? It does look very nice and not too aggressive.
Also, do a searh on the site,"speedace",they also sell nice kits. The only problem is that they are located I believe to be in Tawain I think. Give it a look, they sell the pieces individually if you so desire.

I totally agree with you on spending the money on suspension components and such but once thats all taken care of we need to further differ our cars from the vast sea of 300Es. Anyone here in the forum ever have any expireance purchasing these bodykits from ACE SPEED?

Thanks!

Once I'm finished with everything(suspension, white gauges, etc.)I was thinking of powder coating the grill to the color of the car. I don't want to go to overboard. I am thinking about either upgrading to a 92/93 400E. Was thinking about a 92 and up S class but, cooler heads pevailed(the wife)!

FA22,

Couldn't get the informatiom on the Benzbin, all I got was,"fender extension". We're looking for the airdam that has the cutouts for the driving/fog lights on the bottom. Your right. It does seem that we have the same ideas going on for our cars. Do you have any pictures, since yours seem to be further along than mine? How hard was it to fit the shift knob from the S600 on your car? Did it call for alot of modification?

FA22.

Post some pics of your car. I would love to see it. I just put a nice burlwood knob on my car. looks real snazzy.

Next up, Euro Headlights, and exhaust.

Then suspension/wheels/tires.

Then after all that, I'll be looking into exterior mods.

rich30769 try looking under "500E bumper" this I think sould bring it up. That Airdam would look really stealth but aggressive, only concern I have, are how easily they get damaged on a curb or somthing especially if your car is lowered.
Alon there are some brand new Eurolights going up on ebay for 300 no bids yet and a couple hours left try this lhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=534166799&r=0&t=0. Hope this helps!

For the S600 shift knob I actually got it in Europe and there they sell an adapter shafts so you could use any of the newer twist on shifters (presicion Auto also has them). I also added the MB star "sport" inlay on the shifter in place of the normal star looks real good. I'll try to get some pics!

Guys we'll have to figure out how to get that airdam
and Alon enjoy your new shift knob

500E airdam

FA22,
I took a close look at the 500E's airdam and I think it's alot wider than our car. Did you also do the swaybars? I priced the 500E's today at my dealer and they want $162. for the front. I read on this BB someone purchased the swaybar for either $84 or $94's, from their dealer. Why the big difference in price? No idea!
