1992 Lincoln Continental Signature Series. 155K mi. Gainesville, Fl. $2,000 firm
I assume it's okay to post non-mb vehicles in the Shop Swap Classifieds. So, what we have here is a 1992 Lincoln Continental Signature Series. The car is white with tan leather interior. It has just over 155,000 miles. It has a 3.8L V6 engine, automatic transmission, factory am/fm and seperate CD player (I believe which is non-functional), full power including seats (w/lumbar support). Keyless entry and remote trunk release and fuel door. Intergrated car phone. Digital instrument display. Air conditioning.
Exterior Condition: The paint is in great shape for year and mileage on car with a few rock chips in the front (on the hood). There are a few scratches on the car (biggest on the trunk). The body is in good shape with the exception of some damage to the driver rear door area (have pic). The windshield has a chip in it but has been repaired to prevent further spreading (doesn't get in any way of drivers view). Appears to be a rust free car (spent most of it's life in Tennesse, then 1.5 years in N.C. and less than a year in Michigan where it was stored away from snow). Interior Condition: The leather interior is in pretty good shape with the exception of a tear in the drivers seat (back rest area). The seats show a little stress cracks but nothing hideous. No cracks in the dash area. Headliner is beautiful. Back dash is nice. No huge stains on the carpet (covered with mats). Tires: 4 Michelin Symmetry tires with about 1,500-2,000 miles on them. Mechanical/Electrical Condition: One of the rear windows doesn't work (needs solenoid motor, I believe), passenger's seat is inoperable because the motor (wires) has been unplugged. **I have a list of little items that need repairing and can't think of everything right now and don't have the list with me at the moment, but will try to post items ASAP. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ My dad bought this car from his brother in law in September of 2002. My uncle moved to Michigan and got a job at GM, he tried selling it up there but as you can guess had no luck so my dad took it off his hands. To the best of my knowledge, my uncle was the second owner and owned it since 1992 or 1993. We are selling it because we have no space for it and really no need for another car (especially a gasoline) The car comes with books, but we have no records for it. I have some photos which I will place on this site and alot more that I can e-mail to any interested buyer. The car is currently located in Albany, Ga. at our MB mechanic but will be brought back to Gainesville, Fl. whenever we can bring it back down. The asking price is $2,000 FIRM Thanks. No bites yet, so to the top it goes. I made an album of 50 photos on Yahoo!. The quality of the photos aren't very good, but they can help out some, the car is much better looking in person. Here is a link to view the photos.
http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/daimler300cd/lst?&.dir=/92+Lincoln+Continental+Sig.+Series.&.src=ph&.begin=9999&.view=t&.order=&.done=http%3a//f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/daimler300cd/lst%3f%26.dir=/92%2bLincoln%2bContinental%2bSig.%2bSeries.%26.src=ph%26.view=t I also went to Kelley Blue Book and priced it Private Party Retail Value @ $2,310.00 in Good Condition. The link to this is below. My dad has decided that he'll be willing to go down to $2,000 so the asking price will be $2,000. This car is well worth that much, our mechanic thought that $3,000 was a steal for this car, but we've had no "real" interests in it, so we'll drop the price. The car is still at our mechanic's shop in Albany, Ga. We've had no time to bring it back down. This is a very nice family car, or just a car to get someone around town. If you know anybody looking for a car around these specifications tell them about this one and give them our contacts. These are nice cars, but they are like Chryslers and do not hold their value well. I have seen 96-98 Continentals sell as low as $5000-8000. on E-Bay. Sounds like the same deal with my Chrysler. It is a 95' Chrysler Concorde- loaded with all options. The sticker price was $26,000. Current KBB value is $4500. The car is in excellent shape, with only 92K miles and cannot even sell it for $2700. I put it on E-Bay a while back and it only went up to $1700. I was offered $2500. for it. I really did not want to go that low- but e-mailed the seller a few days later w/o a response. It has been listed in the local trading post for weeks @ $2900 w/ only a very few calls. Two have looked at the car. One person wanted it, but could not get a loan. If I cannot get $2700. for it soon- I will re-register and insure it and drive it- or trade it in. Even trade in value is $3100. and I cannot even sell it for $2700. A car lot would ask $5000-$6000 for this car. I know Chryslers are not the best car in the world- nor have a good reputation, but for $2700- it would be hard to find a car this nice, with this much luxury and safety at this price. Good luck selling your car.

86560SEL-
Thanks for your input. Believe me, I know how hard it is to try and sell cars like this one (actually a lot of used American automobiles). I've (we- my father and I) been trying to sell this car since September of last year. We get e-mails all the time but they're those NIGERIAN SCAM e-mails, so that is just junk. We just had a local person interested in buying our Lincoln but she could not get a loan either. We had it on E-bay eariler this year with a few e-mails (about 3-5) but no bids and no sale. I've just about given up selling this car, but not to the point to sell it to a dealer for "their pocket change." I wish it were a Mercedes diesel I were trying to sell, it would sell pretty quickly I'm almost sure of. But then again, I'd probably like it and wouldn't want to sell it. All we have to be is patient I guess, and the right person will come along and pick it up. The reason it's hard for people to try and sell their used cars is because just about anybody these days can buy a brand new car at a dealer with 0% interest and all that good stuff, except the high prices. Thanks again |
